why should I care about SEO?
Easy!!!!!. We all want to make money, and if you spend time blogging then you'd like to have a return on that investment. In order to monetize your blog you first have to spend some time doing Search Engine Optimization in order to increase your rankings in the different SERPS.

Hi Darren, it's Serapis Murillo (online marketing specialist for the VivaReal Network).

I've been reading your posts and have found them really cool. To give you something back, I wanted to give you a cool tip that you can turn into a blogger turorial post. It's actually something your friends at dnnseo already do but you are missing. What is it? The famous FavIcon. Not really too SEO related but it does make you look much more professional.

You personally, are currently using the played out B favicon that is standard with Blogger. Why not change it to something custom made?

So how do you create a FavIcon in Blogger.

First of all you would need to create the actual icon image using a Favicon Generator Tool. You can use many free ones. Just search for FavIcon Generator in Google and a list of tools come up. I personally use: http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

After you've generated it you need to upload it to a hosting server. Unfortunately Blogger wont host your custom favicon.

If you don't have your own paid hosting server, Luckily there are many free hosting services out there and putting up a simple icon on one of these and calling it from your blogger blog wont use up hardly any bandwidth.

I for example call my http://english.vivareal.us/ icon which I have placed here: http://english.vivareal.us/favicon.ico

and have this icon show up in my http://casas-en-miami.blogspot.com/ Blog.

Here's how you call the Icon you need to put on your Blogger Blog From the remote hosting service.

First you go to your Blogger Design Tab.

Second you open up the Edit HTML section.

Once there you look for the following code:

< / head >

keep in mind I've used extra spacing in the above tag in order to be able to post it in this blog comment because blogger wont accept these tags in comments.

Once there you add your FavIcon Code right above the head tag: Mine is:

< link href='http://www.vivareal.us/favicon.ico' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/ico' / >

YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE ADDITIONAL SPACING IN THE ABOVE TASK keep in mind I've used extra spacing in the above tag in order to be able to post it in this blog comment because blogger wont accept these tags in comments.

Replace my URL with the URL where you put your personal favicon.ico file on the remote hosting server.

Finally, republish your blog, and presto. That's it. You will have your Blogger blog show a personalized professional Favicon instead of the standard orange and white Blogger "B".

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, or would like me to write a guest post about this or any other matter on your blog just email me.

Cheers and keep up the good work!
